While the rest of mankind dwells in the light, we must stand in the darkness to fight it, contain it, and shield it from the eyes of the public, so that others may live in a sane and normal world.

Double-negative for negative is widely used by African American, but also people from southern states.
Spanish, French and Portuguese also using it for negative, so technically their English sentences might have similar appearance as well.
English from centuries ago also use double-negative for negative, go check Shakespeare for yourself.
But it can't be used as negative meaning in formally paper, that's for sure.
